Mabel White Holmes developed and introduced to the homemaker the first prepared baking mix product, “JIFFY” Baking Mix, in the spring of 1930. Since then millions of kids, and adults too, have enjoyed the delicious taste of Jiffy Fudge Brownies, prepared with just eggs, water, oil and the little blue box.

COBBLER MIX – Louisiana Fish Fry

COBBLER MIX – Louisiana Fish Fry. Peach, apple, blueberry or blackberry, nothing beats a hot cobbler…except maybe a hot cobbler with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! You supply the fruit and with this mix you’ll create a delicious desert that cooks to a golden brown.

Ingredients:
Turbinado sugar, bleached enriched flour (malted barley, flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate, riboflavin), leavening (cornstarch, sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum sulfate and monocalcium phosphate), spice.

Instructions:
-Preheat oven to 375. Melt 4 tbsp. butter or margaine in a saucepan. Pour into a 9×9 baking dish.
-Combine mix with 2/3 cup of milk and blend until smooth. Pour batter into baking dish. Add 16 oz can of fruit (peaches, apples, blueberries or fruit of your choice), including syrup. If using apples, increase milk to 3/4 cup.
-Bake at 375F for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
-Serve warm.
-Fresh fruit can be used, but you must make a syrup with 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup warm water. Bring to a boil until it reaches syrup texture.
-Serving suggestion: Top each serving with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream for a delicious treat.
